My hearing started to noticeably deteriorate in my mid-thirties and by the time I turned forty, the loss was quite significant and interfering with my daily activities. At that time, I purchased my first canal aid for one ear.

Because of my work, it is critical that I stay abreast of the innovations and technological advances in hearing aids in order to function effectively in my business. Therefore, it is crucial that I have an audiologist who will keep me informed about the latest advances and continually work with me to find the best solution for my particular hearing loss.

Dr. Peggy Sheets is just such a person. She truly cares about her patients and how their hearing loss is affecting their lives, and is not just concerned with selling a hearing aid. She is  extremely competent. The new digital hearing aids require significantly more technical sophistication on the part of the audiologist in order to get the very best performance from these aids and Dr. Sheets takes great pains to stay up to date and trained in the latest technologies. Lastly, she is just a nice person who loves what she does and is a pleasure to be around. In my opinion, you will not find a more competent, concerned and caring audiologist.

To those who suffer from hearing loss, I would make the following recommendations:

  1. DON’T WAIT to do something about your hearing loss and improve the quality of your life and those loved ones around you!
  2. DO NOT let vanity stand in your way. It is truly sad that people will let this factor alone stand in the way of measurably improving their lives.
  3. DO buy the best technology that you can afford or is appropriate for your particular hearing loss. If you have hearing loss in both ears, get two aids. You won’t regret it and it does make a huge difference.
  4. DO give yourself enough time to adjust to your hearing aids. It definitely takes time and you cannot wear them one day and not the next or leave them in your drawer for special occasions only. If they are uncomfortable or not performing as you would like or expect, have them adjusted. But stick with it because it’s worth it!

“My hearing loss gradually crept up on me. I found it increasingly difficult to participate in conversations. I own a small business and listening to what clients and prospects have to say is critical to my success.

My experience with Dr. Sheets was very positive, and I was impressed with the high level of professional and courteous service. There was absolutely no sales pressure. My PULSE hearing aids are so tiny and comfortable; I forget I’m wearing them! I consider it my good fortune that I decided to see Dr. Peggy Sheets.”
